Isn’t it your turn now?
Many people view the “middle years” of life as a time of raising a family and working 9-5. During this period, they often trim away extraneous things to focus on work ethic and devotion to family. And in the crucible, one of the things subtracted from life is personal talent and desire to be creative with the gifts God has given.
The kids are out on their own now. A partial or full retirement is also happening. Because of these changes, the dynamics of life have begun to change. And there is that old longing to create again. You want to pick up where you left off. You wonder just what you can do with that talent if you really set your heart and mind to it.
Rediscovering Your Creative Calling
Or maybe you’re a beginner but have always wanted to paint. Perhaps you always had a knack for drawing. You really want to go further and add the lush, rich color and texture that only oil painting can produce.
Or maybe you have a hindrance that you think will stop you from succeeding. Perhaps you are older now, and arthritis has kicked in. Or there may be any one of a number of possible limitations that people face in life.
For each of these scenarios, you need a painting coach. This coach should understand where you are. They can tailor your painting instruction to accommodate you, allowing you to progress at your own speed. They also understand the frustrations that limitations place upon you.
Remember, however that Monet produced some of his finest paintings when he was older and his eyesight was failing. Renoir suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. He was known to strap brushes onto his hands to hold them firmly. Your liability can certainly be leveraged to become your asset. God has given you a gift. Now what will you do with it?
Taking the Next Step with Canvas and Crown
I am the founder and coach of Canvas and Crown Coaching. It is a faith-based program offering oil painting instruction through videos and Zoom meetings. The program is uniquely faith-based. It also provides a community membership where you can grow. You will be encouraged with a group of like-minded artist-believers.
I will announce the launch date for this program in the near future. But right now, I am available to answer questions, to encourage you and provide the info you need to get back in the game. You can use the comment section below to ask questions or comment on the blog posts. Also, you can visit https://www.canvasandcrowncoaching.com to see what’s coming and find out more about me and what I will be offering. Sign up for the waitlist and newsletter and you will be kept in the loop as announcements come.
During this wait time, I truly want to know what your apprehensions are about painting. Is it something you put aside for years? Are you an absolute beginner? I am available for a free appointment by phone/video call to help you take that step to start painting. Just email me at [email protected] I can evaluate work that you have done, if applicable, and give you suggested steps for improvement.
